Bellows Globe Valve Main Function
The bellows globe valve is manufactured using advanced foreign technology, employing foreign metal bellows sealing technology. It features high-performance elastic metal bellows with an exceptionally long fatigue life for expansion and contraction. The bellows sealing design reduces the drawbacks of ordinary valve stem packing, such as rapid aging and easy leakage. It not only improves energy efficiency, enhances the safety of production equipment, and reduces maintenance costs and frequency, but also provides a clean and safe working environment.
Bellows Globe Valve It is a valve that uses the lifting and lowering of the valve stem to drive the valve head, thereby changing the distance between the valve disc and the valve seat to control opening and closing. The bellows globe valve is widely used in chemical production as a globe valve. Globe valves are mainly used in actual production to control pipelines carrying water, steam, compressed air, etc., but are not suitable for materials with high viscosity or prone to crystallization.
The structure of the bellows globe valve is relatively complex, but its operation is simple and labor-saving. It has good flow regulation and channel shut-off performance. The opening and closing speed is slow, and water hammer is rare. This globe valve has a compact structure and a distinct appearance. The valve is equipped with a handwheel and valve stem at the top, and a threaded and packing box sealing section in the middle.
During use, the main method to determine the open and closed status of the bellows globe valve is to observe the height of the valve stem exposed from the valve bonnet, thereby controlling the valve operation. There may be a gap between the valve stem connection part and the valve chamber cover, which can easily cause medium leakage. This can be resolved by packing sealing. The valve stem threads of small globe valves are set inside the valve body, so they are in contact with the medium for a long time during use and are prone to corrosion by the medium.
Therefore, to prevent a short service life of the globe valve, bellows globe valve manufacturers believe that the globe valve should be installed according to the flow direction, and care should be taken to keep the pipeline inlet and outlet lines low, that is, from bottom to top through the valve seat port. The purpose of this installation is to reduce fluid resistance inside the valve body, thereby reducing the force required to open and close the valve. When the valve is closed, it also keeps the valve stem and packing box from contacting the medium, thus reducing damage and leakage.
The opening and closing part of the bellows globe valve is a cylindrical valve disc with a flat or conical sealing surface, and the valve disc moves linearly along the fluid centerline. The valve stem movement is divided into rising stem type (valve stem rises and falls, handwheel does not rise and fall) and rotary valve type (handwheel and valve stem rotate together, with the nut fixed on the valve body). The bellows globe valve can only provide fully open and fully closed positions and allows adjustment and throttling according to customer requirements.
When the valve is closing or opening, when the valve disc is opened to 25% - 30% of the nominal diameter, it reaches a large flow rate, indicating that the valve has reached the fully open position. Therefore, the fully open position of the bellows globe valve should be determined by the stroke of the valve disc.
